Works for mice, deer, racoons, opossums, January 1, 2012 By This review is from: RO-PEL Animal Repellent Gallon Spray Bottle Ropel appears to work well for preventing damage from mice, deer, racoons, opossums, and probably other animals. I had mice chewing holes in my garage door seal to gain access to the warm garage, a common problem around here. With a spritz of Ropel about once a year, I have had no problem for 8 years. I have used it successfully on rhododendrons, azaleas, roses, yews, and hosta, all deer yummies. It has also protected my garbage cans, barn, and other outbuildings. Unlike most repellants that work by odor, this does not seem to wash off easily and repels for a long time. Therefore, I certainly would never use it on any type of food plant.

Since using Ro-pel they haven't disturbed the garbage bags. Certainly a relief to know it works and not have to resort to more drastic measures to keep the yard and driveway clear of unsightly clutter.

I had squirrels chewing on a wooden swingset I bought for my daughter. Spraying the wood periodically with Ro-Pel seems to be keeping the squirrels away.
